Goodbye paycheck.

I just bought vegetarian sushi and Starbucks ground coffee from Kroger. Total = $18.49. Jesus christ! That's like 1/4th of my student worker paycheck!

It was worth it though :D The sushi was YUM. And that coffee should keep me awake for most of the night on November 1st. :) I'm so pumped for NaNoWriMo!

NaNoWriMo is one week away!

I'm really excited for NaNoWriMo this year! My mind is going crazy thinking about all the writing possibilities. This year, I think I'm going to write a historical fiction. I'm not sure about the time setting yet, but I'm thinking it's going to end up being about prohibition in the bourbon capital of the world - Bardstown, where I live. I guess there are a ton of resources here for me to use, because Bardstown seems to be obsessed with that time period anyway with their museums and distilleries and all. What a way to take an innocent tourists money.

But I'm also thinking of writing about a soldier's point of view during the Revolutionary war. And, to make it even more interesting, making it a view of a Hessian soldier who cowardly runs away from the war, and tries going unnoticed in America. Oh god, there are so many things I could write about! I'm so excited!

how we spend our weekends

Last night, me and my best friends bought a $7 pack of cupcakes, and got our hands on some $5 blackberry Arbor Mist. We drove out to the top of a hill, and spent the rest of the night laying in the grass, talking about the world, and where it's going to take us.
I even learned the proper way to eat a cupcake.

Thank you, Brison.

peace and quiet is rare around here apparently

Five months ago, ever since we've moved into this house, I've noticed that there's the constant sound of a lawn mower running around here. Every day SOMEONE mows their lawn for about 3 hours, and you would think that it would drive me crazy. But for the past two days, nobody has mowed their lawn, and it's dead quiet outside. I'm starting to wonder what the heck happened around here. To be honest, I'm a little freaked out.

Why didn't I think of it before?

Today the insurance company called me to tell me the estimate of the money I'm going to get back on my car. Looks like I'm getting $4,000 for it. I paid $2,000 for the car back in June. I should have crashed that thing months ago!

20 oz of Liquid Heaven and a Strange Encounter With a Stranger

This morning I woke up three hours early, before I normally have to be at school. So, I decided to go downtown to a little coffee place called The Java Joint. I normally go there about twice a week when I don't have to be in class just to grab a bagel and a cup of coffee and maybe catch up on my homework.
I realized that they had a new menu, including lattes and cappuccinos along with their usual hot or iced coffees and smoothies. So, knowing I usually enjoy latte's, I ordered a 20 oz caramel flavored latte with foam. A few minutes later, my order was ready. Let me tell you that it was the best latte I've ever had. EVER.
So I drank the whole 20 oz, and ordered another. I couldn't help myself. I paied the woman at the counter, and left with the warm caffinated drink in my hand.
As I walked down the sidewalk, past the drugstore and the Balloon Lady's shop to where I had parked, I noticed a strange man standing inches away from my car, peering into the back seat. For what? I have no idea. So, feeling a little too awkward, I walked past the man, and pretended that car wasn't mine -- and I'm guessing he was pretending it was his because he didn't budge as I walked by.
As soon as I had made it safely around the corner, I hid behind some bushes in the alleyway, and proceeded to spy on the man. It looked now as if he were trying to open the back door. In fact, he tried opening all the doors, which had been locked. And, just for fun, I decided to press the panic button. He.freaked.out. And he sprinted out of there as fast as his little old legs could take him.

Best moment of my life.

get this:

Last Wednesday I wrecked my car. It was a complete accident of course. Two of my tires just slipped off a wet road, and when I jerked the wheel to get back on, I lost all control of the vehicle. Eventually, after all that spinning and swurving, I ran head-on into an embankment. I came out of the crash perfectly fine. The car, on the other hand, is destroyed.

Good times!

Anyway -- the following day I went down to the insurance company to ask about the rental that I get if I'm ever in an accident. They sent me over to Enterprise, where we filled out paperwork for a good 30 minutes before getting a vehicle. As soon as the guy hands me the keys and I'm ready to go out the door, he turns me around really fast and asks me how old I am. I answer that I'm 17, but will be 18 this December. So he takes the keys, and I'm not allowed to rent a car.

Last resort: I called my aunt Judy. She gladly (and bravely) agreed to let me borrow her car for about three weeks if we would rent her a car for a month.
So, I had only had the car for 23 hours by the next day. My mom was going to work in her giant red truck, and she was backing out of the garage. You guessed it - she backed into my aunts car and destroyed the front of it. :

Now, not only do we have to pay for a new car for myself, but we have to pay a good $300-$500 dollars to get the hood of this car fixed as good as new before Tuesday when my aunt comes over for dinner.

All I have to say is FML.
